    Selecting colors

I have a philips hue color bulb and the Aqara cube. I had the events set so when I turned the cube to various sides the light would change to the appropriate color. That was with HS3.

Now with HS4 I can make the same event but it seems all the selections are just a number from 0 to 1000. Is there a setting to change to more human friendly numbers or names?

While I'm at it, what a pain in HS4 if you choose a feature and it's not the feature you want. You have to delete that selection and start with selecting the device again. Not fun.

racerfern ... OMG, I didn't know this little thing existed until you mentioned it. I think it's *perfect* for the application you described, ie, setting color moods in a room. The design of the cube makes it something you could leave out on a table and not exceed the WAF. Which ZigBee gateway do you have this linked to?

I know. Please put a ticket to HST support for this as they have limited the possible values selected in an event for a device. I cannot think for any reason doing that. You could try to use the JowiHue actions for that as those do not limit you and give more settings at the same time, without the need to concern on the device.

You need deCONZ for this device, either conbee or raspbee. It is a device that can give a lot of fun. I have grand children here who love to roll the device. I have set the events to speak some funny stuff depending on the side that is up. It is complex but possibilities are endless LOL

Thanks Wim. Running the ConBeeII as per your previous recommendations. Will be purchasing the JowiHue plugin if my trial continues to be successful with the various devices I'm experimenting with.

Just ordered a cube for $11 from GearBest.... that site is addictive and the prices are insanely inexpensive. Also picked up some more Aqara zigbee toys to experiment with

TC1 at first I thought you were being a bit of a wise guy. Now I realize that no matter how much we're think we're up on all the cool things, there's always something new and unseen around the corner. I've had my cube for over a year and it's been tons of fun. It takes a 2450 coin battery that lasts a long time. It paired easily with my raspbee and JowiHue.

The only complaint now is with HS4. BTW, another great site for zigbee stuff is aliexpress.com. Search for Xiaomi or Aqara.

w.vuyk HSCS-1399. So which is the best way to set the color RGB, hue, something else. Luckily there are only six sides but there's also 8 rotations. I had it all set but I had to rescan after a power outage and all my events tied to that bulb now need complete rebuilding.

I'm even thinking about an event that would require a specific set of sides in a specific order, like a puzzle to announce a grand prize.

You could best use the JowiHue actions in the event actions. You can select this in the list of actions. Then choose "Set lights" where you can set all light color stuff in one go.
