    Weird bug

So I finally got around to upgrade my JowiHue plugin from 3 to 4 (even though I upgraded to hs4 months ago) And for some reason when I put the sliders up to 100% my lights were only about 40% brightness. Looks like my bulb settings maybe didn't all get convered when I upgraded. I did reset status\graphic values and that didn't fix this particular bug. I think it has to do with my old setup using the 0-255 brightness and the new one using 0-100, Just wondering if I need to manually change that or if there's a setting I missed that would fix that for all my bulbs?

I am wondering if the conversion is missing a step here... Hsuser Could you send me your \Data\JowiHue\JowiHue.db file, so I could check of the conversion missed changing a setting? If it did miss, I can change this in the database and return it to you. Also will update the upgrade process for future upgrades :-)

Send the file to jowihue at ziggo dot nl?

      Thanks,

      Wim

This has been happening to me, too. I just never got around to reporting it. I fixed it by updating the status/control range to 1 to 254 on (in my case) Hue bulbs. I think the problem is the plugin does not scale the percentage to the actual dim value when it gets sent to the bridge. This happened last week when I decided to click the button to update all status/value pairs for the plugin devices. It had happened before but I had forgotten about it and had not added any new Hue bulbs. I have scripts that want to set the actual dim value, and those break. I can adjust those to use percentages by interface type, but in this case if I set a device brightness to 80 it gets sent as 80 (not as 80% of 254). And if I set it to greater than 100 it gets ignored.

          Bill,

If possible, send me your Jowhue.db file? I do think the issue is in this file, but it would be nice to check on it? It is possible an old HS3 setting is interfering here and I would like to confirm it.

Together with Hsuser we have found the issue. The issue is that dusing conversion of the devices the dimvalue setting is not set to percentages, where the plugin is working on percentage levels. This is going to be resolved in the next version of the plugin. If you want it resolved, could you send me your JowiHue database? I will then correct it for you and return it immediatly. Or if you are patient, the next versin will definitely solve this.

            Thanks,

              Wim,

I can wait. My workaround was to adjust the status/value info for the devices. For the next release I will adjust my scripts to use percentages. It is much easier to program for that.
