    All Lights devices

    Hello,

I have 2 of these so called "All Lights" devices, presumably because I have 2 controllers under the plugin, a Raspbee II and a Philips Hue.

On the 1st one, there are up to 21 CT devices that seem related to the color temperature. Originally, they were all named "All Lights (CT)". I renamed them to have a count.

    Also, there are gaps in the device ref. numbers: 62,63, 205 to 211, 374, 429, 443, 454, 460, 476, 482, 630, 1552 to 1554, 1598, 1600 to 1602 and finally 1608.

Those gaps suggest they were added in several occurrences.

The values range 2000-6500 is why I think they are related to color temp. in Kelvin. Not sure I understand the 505 and 506 values though..

But why 21 of those devices when I only have 6 lights in the Philips Hue and 1 led strip in the Raspbee II?

21 logical devices for 7 physical devices, that is odd. Even more when 1 physical device is on a different bridge.

I'm assuming these are related to devices on the Raspbee II but I haven't been able to confirm that.

The 2nd "All Lights" is much more straightforward, hence my assumption the 1st one is related to the Raspbee:

So, what's your take on this? What more would you need to explain this?

I had another user that had the same issue, repeating CT devices being created. It was solved in the current beta version of the plugin, but you need to remove al CT devices by hand. Then only one wil be recreated. Als0, the All lights entry for deCONZ is disabled with the last version, it will log a line when the plugin starts to remove the all lights device for deCONZ. This is because deCONZ is letting to much devices appear in the all lights group, so if you control the all lights, your curtains and plugs will also respond.

If you need an "all lights" group, it is better to create one.

No need for an 'All lights' on deCONZ for now, and yes, I'll create one if needed.

If the 'All Lights' from deCONZ is disabled than the 'All Lights' with those extra CT would have been part of the Philips Hue bridge.

      I did:
      - remove all CT devices
      - installed the beta plugin (4.0.4.5)
      - turned it off then back on

CT device not added. Tried a scan, CT device still not added.

There are a few odd things / issues with that beta version.

      Broken icon/link:

A couple of other setup pages have that broken link.

What's the Creativity button? I don't remember seeing this before.

If I go to the JowiHue page of the 'All Lights' device that had the extra CT, I get a blank page with only the Save button:

I checked a few other devices and that page looks good for them. So, assuming there is a problem with the device itself, I deleted the root 'All Lights' device and rescanned. No cigar. Stopped and restarted the plugin. No cigar again 😞

Highlight is for the next post...

Not sure at this point how to fix that device.

        Guy,

The all lights device you pointed at was the one on deCONZ. Any actions for the device are frozen by the plugin, so I expect the device is not recreated at all - nothing. Looking at the above log, the plugin is no longer logging a warning at the restart on the all devices being inactive. No devices should be created anymore for it.

As for the creativity button, it is pointing to the creativity pages, that is also in the JowiHue plugin menu under plugins. Check the documentation on the functions there, you might like them

OK. Seems you're right that it doesn't get recreated. But with the deCONZ, I've seen weird stuff hapening...

I've yet to finalize the upgrade but it's getting there. Once all the details are ironed out, then I might get creative. But I've got a bunch of blinds coming in so that may induce some more delays.

What about that missing icon/link I mentioned?

Yup, forgot to mention that - it will be corrected in the next version.
