    Devices in groups in HS4?

In the deCONZ Phoscon App, I created several groups. The plugin picked them up and created them in HS4. I then started adding my lights and assigning them to the groups in the Phoscon app. The plugin picked up the lights and added them in HS4 but as individual devices. Do I need to create virtual devices and put the group device and all the associated light devices into it or am I missing something that the plugin should auto add the lights into the group based on how they are setup in the deCONZ Phoscon app?

I have about 20 groups and 60 lights so I was hoping I did not have to do this manually.

    example:

I have these 2 lights in the Foyer group in Phoscon app, but in HS4 they are each listed independently in Devices of the Foyer Group
    Dimmable light 2 (1681)
Dimmable light 2 (On/Off/Dim) (1682) Off Today 12:01:00 AM OFFON

     Dimmable light 2 (Extra) (1683)
    Dimmable light 5 (1692)
Dimmable light 5 (On/Off/Dim) (1693) Off Today 12:01:00 AM OFFON

     Dimmable light 5 (Extra) (1694)
    Foyer (1687)
     Foyer (On/Off/Dim) (1688) Off Today 12:01:00 AM

I do not really understand what you want to achieve here. First of all, you do not need Phoscon other then to initiate the registration of the gateway. From there you can do everything in the bridge maintenance page of the plugin, including creation of groups. Phoscon has a habit of trying to force you to create groups to often, which certainly is not needed for many cases.

A group created on a Philips Hue bridge or a deCONZ gateway is a means of controlling a group of lights, but is really a separate item. The plugin represents the group as a device on its own. The controls on this device will control all lights in the group almost synchronously, where controlling each light separate would show a delay moment.
Aside from the group, the plugin will also create a device for each light, with will control only the light, not a whole group.
My advice would be to create a group only when multiple lights are often controlled at the same time

It is not advisable to create a virtual group and add plugin devices in it. I am pretty sure the plugin will start having issues with that.

    Thanks,

Thank you. Understand how it works now. Little different from Lightify and the HS3 ZigBee plugin. I do use 99% of my lights by group (or zone). I set my events or scripts to run the group vs. the individual lights in the group. In HS3, I created a virtural device for the group and put all the light devices inside of that group. This just made the device page easier to look at and control outside of an event or script. In HS4, every device is its own and then its features are in there too. Just makes the device page very cumbersome (not your fault).

So it sounds like I keep my groups in phoscon app and then control the lights in that group via the devices created for the group in HS4. Then I should just hide from view the individual lights.

Just FYI. When I created the group in the phoscon app for the colored lights, it just created a regular group in HS4 (did not get a snag of the before). If you toggle group to individual and back to group in phoscon for the group, the plugin recreates the group with features for the group.
