    Questions about FYRTUR blinds...

Thinking about adding a pair of these over a sliding patio door, one blind per door section. Have some questions before I pull the trigger...

I noticed these blinds come with a remote, I'm assuming this is their typical Zigbee remote. In real world usage does one pair the remotes directly to the blinds in deconz or use the remotes to trigger JowiHue/HS4 actions to control the blinds? I know from past experience that pairing remotes directly to things like bulbs ensures almost no latency and will work even if HS4/deconz is offline.

I notice these use a rechargeable battery, how long do they last in between charges? Let's say you're only opening or closing twice a day.

Are there issues with the blinds staying in sync opening and closing?

Any insights from folks using these appreciated.

    Tony,

The blinds work fine with deCONZ, also with low latency. One disadvantage is that deCONZ loses control once in 6 or more months some others experience this more often. Several users (inluding myself) have been reporting this. Until now this seems not resolved yet, unless one of the latest updates of deCONZ solved it. The process to resolve this is taking out the battery for 30 seconds or more and then reinsert it. The blind goes up and control is restored.

The advantage of only connecting the remote is that it works even when HS or deCONZ is unavailable. But I do like to have the blinds just close when the window is in full sun, or it gets dark or whatever control. So for me my preferred method is using HS for control. The remote control is in a designated drawer if ever needed when HS/deCONZ is not available. Joining process of remote and curtain is simple, so when needed in place fast.

The batteries for me (blinds are operated minimum 2 times a day, max is a bit unpredictable, but in practice 6 times or so) last around 3 months.

Thanks w.vuyk . From looking at the various info online it seems these blinds can report % of position and be controlled in the same manner? Is there some kind of calibration process for this since different models will have differing blind lengths?

I don't know on deCONZ calibration. I was missing it in the time I installed my blind. So in the properties of the device you can set the calibration maintained by the plugin. As in max open, if you want to see the blind rolled down a bit when opened instead of completely up or in max close if you are not lowering the blind 100%, but instead 75 % as this might be closed already.
The plugin then shows 100% open, but internally it controls deCONZ to a max of 80% (for example). And while the blind is moving, you will see the percentage change, so you can use the stop button when needed.
