    Lights do not change name in deconz

    Hi Wim,

    When I change the name of one of my light devices on the HS4 management page they don't change automatically in deCONZ. With the sensors everything works fine, but not with the lights.

    Will check on that.. It has been a while ago I checked on this one.

        I noticed the same. I think the renaming from JowiHue to Deconz still worked in version 4.0.5.2 or 4.0.5.3, but later in one of the newer releases the renaming to Deconz stopped working.

          I have made some changes in the new version regarding renaming sensors. If HST publishes this version, could you test once more? As I tried the rename with the new version and it works. So I am now thinking it might have been resolved now?

            HST hasn't published it yet but my problem was with the lights and plugs (devices). With the sensors and switches there was no problem. When they publish I'll test it and let you know how it went.

              Especialy the plugs are not only "lights". The power information is delivered through sensor information, that is a bit why I hope the issue was resolved. With the new version, which is running here I have tried renaming several lights, but all seem to work fine here, So that is why I am hoping :

                It seems HST takes her time to publish the update...

                  Yes, sorry for that. I have send a mail on this Thursday night urging them to publish it still in this week, but I guess the person responsible for publishing was not in the office. Lets hope they will be in again on Monday.

                    Hi Wim,

                    I just tried renaming some devices in HomeSeer with the new 4.0.5.6 version;
                    The sensor and switch parts works as expected.
                    But for Adapter On/Off plugs, the light part doesn't change in deConz and Phoscon, when renamed from HomeSeer, although the logging says:
                    Code:
                    ===============================================================================================
                    A device has been renamed to TV, changing related devices and internal administration
                    ===============================================================================================

                    Maybe this has something to do with the next line entry in the logging?
                    Code:
                    Feature TV Plug not renamed as it is a plug device (rename the feature directly instead)

                    And later on, the logging says something about an other device which were renamed earlier this evering, which belong to a Zigbee remote control.
                    Code:
                    Light On/Off light 10 seems to have an unknown type On/Off light
                    Cannot find key for light On/Off light 13 (id=13) was it removed from the bridge?
                    Cannot find key for light On/Off light 12 (id=12) was it removed from the bridge?
                    Cannot find key for light On/Off light 11 (id=11) was it removed from the bridge?
                    Cannot find key for light On/Off light 10 (id=10) was it removed from the bridge?

                      The plug not being renamed is indeed deliberate. This is caused by the fact that there is a power strip that has three controllable plug devices. (Lidl silvercrest device). During the rename process there has been no way for me to distinguish between these 3 plugs, so I have blocked these (and therefor all plugs) for renaming until I find a way to solve this. So yes, this part of the rename is stopped, but on feature level you can rename it. But that is not (yet) renaming the deCONZ device.

                      As for the lights not found, I guess the devices are removed from deCONZ, but the HS devices are still there. Did you maybe add new plugs, removed and re-added them? There is no relation to the naming issue. I think you best remove the devices from HS and restart the plugin for that?

                        I confirm the same, the names remain unchanged in deCONZ.

                        In my case, the indication that the plug will not be renamed also appears, however it is renamed automatically.

                          If it is the plugs that are not renaming, it is a delibarate situation as it causes issues for now. It will be corrected in a next version if I find the solution. The work around for now is renamimg the feature, but that won't rename deCONZ yet (am thinking to support that, but this also comes with challenges)

                            I understand that. In my case it rename the feature too. All the features are renamed inclunding the feature "plug" although the message appears in the log that it does not change.

                              Wim,

                              Perhaps this error is in deCONZ itself. I have now seen that a new update has been released for deCONZ (2.13.2-beta) and one of the changes is:
                              • Fix naming of smart plugs in deCONZ GUI #5380

                              I'm not going to test it because I'm going to stick with the stable 2.12.6 version for now
