New User - Slow Response Times?

Hi. I'm a new user to HomeSeer & JowiHue, moving from Hubitat.

I have a number of Hue lights and dimmer switches setup in my Hue hub. I have connected the hub using JowiHue and can see all my devices as expected.

I have tried to setup my first dimmer switch using If/Then rules, however the response time seems painfully slow. Is this due to the 3 second poll time of the plugin? When the Hue dimmers are connected directly to the Hue hub the On/Off/Dim is instant. Is there a best practice around this? Am I missing something?

You are not missing something here. The Philips Hue bridges do not communicate directly to other programs, so these have to poll the bridge to check if something changed. So a sensor will show a delayed response, depending on your setting for the poll.

If you want to work with switches and sensors I do recommend to use deCONZ with a Conbee/Rasbee device. deCONZ is using a websocket for its communication, response is immediate for these devices.

I am not sure on that. The raspbee is running on a raspberry pi, not sure if it lets add the raspbee card. I know in the past users had an issue with that and added a new pi for deCONZ. But I do not know if that is still the case....
