    Restrict access to certain devices

    Hi Wim w.vuyk ,

I'm about to deploy some Hue bulbs that are interfaced to my ConBee2. I want to increase the WAF, so my idea is to let the wife play around with the colors via the Hue Essentials app (the color picker makes it easy) and when she has a color scheme she likes I could then snapshot it via JowiHue.

The problem I'm anticipating is that an app like HE has access to *all* the devices on the ConBee bridge. I'm worried about her accidentally or otherwise messing around with other devices. in HS4 one has the ability to restrict certain devices from certain users/clients. Can some thing like that be achieved with deconz? I did some Googling and came up empty handed.

Indeed, this is a no. Neither is this possible for the Philips Hue bridge. It is HS providing this filter but as far I know apps like Philips Hue or Hue essentials do not have this as an option.

That's what I thought, but never hurts to ask someone more knowledgeable than me

I guess it will all come down to a lecture like "you can do this BUT don't do that "

I still can't believe HS doesn't provide a graphical color picker for HS Mobile or HS Touch.

        Hi,

Maybe you can create a separate dashboard for each user?
Personally I like the HSBuddy interface and app. As a former Imperihome user I now use HSBuddy.

The problem use-case is being able to have an easy to use color-picker circle that the wife can use on her phone/tablet to setup the colors on individual or group Hue bulbs that are being controlled by deconz/JowiHue. Does HSBuddy have such a control?

Hi, I just edited one of my dashboards and added a control for a Philips Hue Bloom light to see if it works the way you're looking for.
HSBuddy can control the extra JowiHue devices such as Hue, Sat and CT, and thus color, saturation, rgb, dim, etc can be controlled.
Unfortunately the controls in the HSBuddy app aren't displayed as a color-picker circle, but as sliders.
