    Ikea Tradfri Questions

So it appers DeConz supports the Ikea Tradfri Remote.

What does the device look like under homeseer when brought in?

it is a simple device with two features, one for the battery and one that holds the (last) button function that has been used. Based on the value of the button feature you can trigger devices. In the below sample you can see the device (battery is very low at the moment as you can see )

It's a very versatile device, well worth picking one up. The one I keep in my living room I'm constantly re-purposing, whether to control multiple holiday lights all over the house, or as of now for controlling Hue bulbs dim level, color, and scenes.

Here's all the possible triggers you can get from it:

How long do these batteries typically last?

The batteries for the IKEA remotes last around 1,5 years for me. But I guess this depends how often you use them. In my experience the aqara (xiaomi) remtes last longer here.

Thanks. I’ve purchased one and hope to get it this week and setup.

My automation ideas for it, so far.

1.) Work Mode - Turns off and some lights on
2.) Red Light On and Off for meetings - Informs families I’m on a meeting
            3.) Turn on roomba

Any other ideas some can share?

Hi Wim, Do all Tradfri devices work within JowieHue?

Most will work with the JowiHue plugin. All lights for sure and sensors and remotes will all work, unless new ones have services. The Airpurifier is as far I know still in testing for deCONZ. Also check https://zigbee.blakadder.com/deconz.html if you want to be sure on your devices.
