    Buttons

I installed Aeotec and Aqara Zigbee buttons. It seems they have been included in the Zigbee network. They show up as devices in Homeseer and Phoscon. If I click on the device in Homeseer it shows up as being clicked in the device page. But it doesn't show up in the log. And if I set up an event based on the click it doesn't seem to work. It seems like I'm 90% there.

Button presses don't show up in the logs as they are just device value changes. Please post one of your events so we can see what you have set up.

That event looks OK but you aren't showing the very top, right-hand side. Do you have the event enabled?

          Yes, it's enabled.

OK. Does the event turn on the device if you run it manually? Running an event manually bypasses the trigger and conditions. If that works, the action is working and we can focus on the trigger.

Can you check the feature with the button value and check if for some reason the option "Last Change Time Updates on Status Change Only" is enabled. If it is, make sure it is deselected. This way is the status is set, but not changed it will still trigger for the plugin to check. And indeed, use the "Has its value set" option in the event.

Interesting...running it manually turned on the device.

Does it matter that the status on the devices page still shows the button pressed?

No it will not matter. It will always show the last button press value. The time updated wil change when you press the same button. Did you check the setting I suggested?

Then this should just work. I only can come up with one option, which I think is silly, but if you did not, the event will not trigger automatically:

You did save the trigger right?

That's good. That means the event trigger is the issue. I don't have the Aeotec button but I have several Aqara and they work fine.

w.vuyk - Genius! I did a save and now it's working. In the past it seems HS saves as you go. I'll remember this for the future. Thanks a lot.

Good catch Wim. I just assumed that screenshot was from when he expanded the trigger so we could see it. You get the save button when you do that as well.
