Way to get color control working on smart home speakers (GoogleHome/Alexa)?

Is there a way to get control of on/off, brightness, color + dusk/dawn whites, all working together via GoogleHome or Alexa - such as what you get by linking GoogleHome directly with the LiFX app (which suuuucks)?

It seems as though Z-Wave native colored bulbs work this way when linked to Google, as the controls all fall under one HS device. Even with this plugin though, that seems to not be the case. I would have to enable "voice command" on separate devices for brightness, and color using this plugin, which seems to not work fully.

Welp, I didn't get any help from the developers on this one, but I managed to find a 2 year old thread covering the HUE plugin, and someone suggested enabling voice command on: the root device, the child which controls brightness, and the child which controls the color (the HUE posting stopped there, but I also enabled it on the child which controls the white color temperature)...

I haven't been home yet to visually test the functionality yet, buuut:
