    Shelly button 1

I bought a Shelly button to have a play with.
I have it set up and can see the button as a Device in HS - all's well so far.
I can use the button in an event but - the HS device retains the last setting. If I use the same setting again (S for a short push) the event doesn't fire as the device is already set to S.
Suggestions for what I should be doing welcome :-)

There is a setting in the device that controls whether the timestamp changes if the value does not change. Play with that.

I'm not seeing that - but you have given me an idea as the counter increases! I'll play with that.

Edit - got it working with that.

The "SetDoesNotChangeLastChange" setting exists on mcsMQTT Edit tab. When it is checked mcsMQTT only updates HS when a change occurs. In situations where the same topic is used for both subscribe and publish it needs to checked to prevent a positive feedback of a continuous stream of the same message being published, HS raised event, message published, etc. In this situation it should be unchecked as there is no publish topic since you cannot control the button and you desire to have HS event every time the button reports.

I just added a button 1 and changed the "SetDoesNotChangeLastChange" as well. Now it works very well. Thanks for the info!
