    Insteon 2245-222 Square Can't Login

I just purchased the Homeseer and your Insteon plugin for it to regain control over my Insteon network. I am following your suggested startup page you have 'Sticky' to the forum titled "How to find the IP address of an Insteon hub" I found the IP address using your suggested IP detection software and using Opera or Chrome browsers I cannot login to the hub. I have unplugged it, nothing. I've unplugged it and moved it to a different location physically, nothing. I've restarted my computer and checked for the IP address again and tried and still nothing. It worked before the cloud went down and now it's like it's bricked. I have read here in your forum it's okay to hard reset it, but concerned I'll loose connectivity to all my devices and programmed scenes, but it doesn't do much good anyway. Mark, please advise.

    • Do you get the request to login when you enter http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:25105 into your browser?
    • Are you using the credentials printed on the label on the bottom of your hub? (your old Insteon web account credentials are NOT what you want to be entering)
    • Have you tried various combinations of similar letters (lowercase EL, Uppercase EYE, etc) when entering the username/password
    • Have you tried scanning the QR code also on the label on the bottom of your Insteon hub with your phone camera? This will give you the 6-digit Hub ID, the Username, and Password, in a more readable and copy-able format without guessing about similar letters & numbers from the printed label.
    • You've found the sticky thread about finding your IP address, also make sure you're reading through the "Getting Started..." sticky thread: https://forums.homeseer.com/forum/hs...insteon-plugin

I cannot even get a confirmation that I'm communicating with the hub with Chrome or Opera.

No sir. I have a google fiber network so it comes up a little different than most as 192.168.82.42

          Edit: wrong quote

so if you enter http://192.168.82.42:25105 into chrome, what happens? you should get a login prompt

if you get an error, try power cycling the insteon hub

In Chrome I typed in the address bar 'http://192.168.82.42.25105' which is the current address on my network for the hub and the attached screenshot is what kicks back immediately.

Power cycled already several times without any effect.

My question besides why won't it display the login page, is it possible to get your IP address of your hub when it apparently doesn't work? Doesn't make sense to me.

same here - put in the IP address followed by the :25105 and it comes up with "site can't be reached"

we cannot get the hub IP address to work in the address bar with the :25105 at the end - it just gets us to 'site can't be reached' so we can't move to the next step. Please help! Our other set up at our other location when off without a hitch!

You need to use a colon ( : ) between 42 and 25105. Not a period, as this represents the port. http://192.168.82.42:25105

Does that get you to the login screen for the Insteon Hub?

The screen shot in post Visitor Messages by Bill shows httpS -- change to http (no S on the end) -- and separate the IP address from the port with a colon

OMG. I can't believe I did that. I knew it didn't look right, but just didn't check it out further. Thanks a bunch! I should be on the right path now.
