Unable to replace failed Insteon plug-in dimmer

Running HS 4.2.14.0 and MNS Insteon 4.0.4.10

I have a LampLinc dimmer that's flaked out and I'd like to swap it out for a replacement. I'm attempting to use the Replace Device functionality in the device screen and get the message "An Error occurred" after entering the replacement device ID. There is no entry in the log to indicate what error occurred. This is a relatively new install - I didn't upgrade from HS3 to 4.

please check the interface page and download and check the insteon error report log for an error,

the alternative solution, is to register the new device, and then just update events to point to the new device.

then delete the bad device from the plugin

Thank you. I've attached the log for your review if interested, but I couldn't find anything myself (lots of errors but I don't know what I'm looking for). I went ahead and removed the defective device and then added the replacement. The replacement network id is 35.C8.54.
