    Can't Change Device battery name

The battery names created are something like: eWH26_SENSOR

I want to change this to "Outside Temp Sensor Battery".

but when i do, either in HS4 under "feature name", or even in the legacy HS3 view.... it seems to take. then I refresh the dashboard and it goes back to the original name.

    thoughts?

PS. I was able to change temperature names ironically.

    There's no irony

Temperatures are known maximum number of channels (i.e 8) - so I allocate internally 8 HS devices and create the device when temperature reading becomes available. After I create HS device - you are free to rename it.

But batteries are not documented and how many total battery readings I might receive - I don't know. So every time I receive the battery reading - I name the HS device with the reading name.

I'll see if I can avoid changing name.

Ver 4.0.1.37 - Don't rename battery devices (Ecowitt & AWL)

Seems to work. The only danger is - when you add new sensors - should make sure the correct HS device is assigned to each battery, as order reported by API may change (especially for AW Local. Ecowitt API should be more reliable as it's binary)

      [EDIT]

Ver 4.0.1.38 - Improve AWLocal battery not renaming
