In general, I noticed that some devices don't seem to appear until an event like weather warning spawns one, personally I would like all devices available when we establish a location, so I can attach event triggers to them rather than having to wait them to arrive at a later date, they would simply contain "Ok" or "0" which would signify nothing to report.
Yes, I just described the situation in the post # 13 above.

    And here (NOTE 2): https://forums.homeseer.com/forum/hs...94#post1586194

I have more than a hundred of possible devices (features) - I don't want to create them "just in case". I can't know what data will be available from the provider. I.e. if the user doesn't have Lightning sensor.

    Regarding "weather warning" - https://forums.homeseer.com/forum/hs...48#post1586248

I agree with you that I do not want all devices to just have them, but in the case of PWS AmbientWeather.net it only shows those devices that I own i.e. I could have 5 moisture sensors while you have none, I would expect 5 moisture sensors based on profile, are we talking pass each other? It's like your example of Lightning Dst and Time devices I would have expected them to accompany the Lightning Cnt device.

Same applies to soil moisture sensors - you can have one, or you can have 16 - I only know when data is available. In your case you have 2 soil sensors, so you have 2 devices.

Also the beauty is - if you add another soil sensor - it will appear immediately.

Yea, but what about my lightning detector device (there's only one possible) with the system, they show up in AmbientWeather.net with a value of 0 for the (3x) devices but they exist.

Besides how did you get all three Lightning devices to show up in your setup/screen shot?

To create the devices I need to set lightning_time and lightning_dist to some value to simulate data coming from the provider, but any "artificial" data I can think of - may be misleading to the user.

Understood.... But why does my AK Weather Trace seem to have the missing lightning devices albeit with value of zero?

Exactly, it does have the counter (albeit with value of zero) - that's why I'm able to create "Lightning Cnt" with a zero count.

                  But it doesn't have lightning_time and lightning_dist.
