It should be possible to rename a timer or counter.

I can't DELETE a timer! I've deleted all events that have anything to do with it, but after ever reboot, it repopulates itself.

Did you delete the actual timer or just the timer device? If you just delete the timer device, HS4 will recreate it. Be sure to delete the timer. I suppose there's a possibility that the system got stuck when I deleted the whole event group instead of the individual events within it.
But if that screws up, then there's an issue because there shouldn't be a way to delete the whole event if there's bugs involved.

Looks like it's still not possible to rename a timer. (HS 4.1.17)
It seems strange that to rename a timer I have to :
- create a new timer
- replace all instances of the timer with the new timer
- remove the old timer
