well if i knew what variables there were, i could tell you... hah..

so one thing would be nice.. is simple...
    i have 2 kids..
i can have it add the user variable for who unlocked the house so i know who is home...

oh and 3 ifs are too much? if so, HS4 cant handle much then huh.. ive seen events with people doing a ton...
but i will look into what you posted on how to do it better.. appreciate it.. really do!

what is the tipping point for you?
i was able to do it cuz hs3 was doing minimum for me...
now HS4 is doing exactly what hs3 was doing so im good there...

i just came on though as my garage lights didnt come on when i opened the door (concord alarm sensor) to see what gives.. then jumped here first.. so now onto that...

We're here for the same reason. I'm not ready to dip my toe into the HS4 pool just quite yet. But thumbs up to those that are helping to fix the little gremlins that always come with something new.

and I'd take a free snow blower anyday to stop it snowing for 2 years! You got a good deal TeleFragger !

        Keep up the good work,

well i do have my hs3 box sitting in the corner.. so im using a totally different box..

not sure if you saw the threads I had about tiny pc's by lenovo? then Pete did a full thread on it... what he bought, how cheap they are , etc.. way powerful, great runners and on 18 watts!!!! so why run a raspberry pi or atom processor when you can run this power beast and be cheap on power and a great performer...

so the issue was me. I still havent setup the machine to auto login and HS4 to launch after logging in.. we had a power failure so it was sitting there at a login screen...

like look at the specs on this...
          https://www.ebay.com/itm/Lenovo-Thin...o/333285797065

          i have this.. has NVME!!!!!!
i paid less.. this one comes with SSD..
i got one without memory and drive.. and put 32gb ddr4 and 500gb nvme!!!
          https://www.ebay.com/itm/Lenovo-Thin...O/143569951119

oh and thx for the thumbs up and keeping it going.. i thought i may as well show different things im doing. nothing sophisticated like everyone else..its basic but works..

Here too running HS4 on a separate computer at this time. Baby steps here. Homeseer 3 is currently primary.

Doing a GDO plus two garage door sensors here with a wired to alarm panel configuration plus testing new GDO multiple function WiFi device using MQTT / Tasmota which works well and is as fast as the wired stuff.

Here running Ubuntu 18.04 (and Virtual Box), Windows 2016, Windows 10 Pro on three Lenova Tiny computers.

Built a Lenova Tiny running Windows 2016 for Gogs (Gordon in Scotland) and Jon purchased one for HS use a couple of months back.

Added legacy serial ports to the ones used for automation.

Switched from using any ARM based PC to Intel for running HS4 Pro / HS4 Lite. I can do much more with the Intel CPUs.

b_weijenberg - are there drivers for these older 433 receivers? All I see are pics of white adapters which are the newer ones???

out of nowhere... rfxcom plugin stopped working. said couldnt open port for port 4 to which the usb receiver is set to.

i had to go in and delete the receiver and went to recreate it but wouldnt see my port. uninstall my port from windows device manager, unplug receiver, plug it back in and now it sees the port again. Back up and running...

well i think im going back to hs3 to make sure everything works still...

so far.. x10 isnt working for me.. and now rfxcom isnt either...

i was having an issue with my computer locking up every 2-3d and it is headless so i had to power it down via power button and power on. system would work again.

I can say that I believe the locking up issue is gone after a few version release of hs4 beta.

bit frustrated as it took 2 months to get a reply asking me if im still having an issue with HS4 and RFXCOM and after no response from me in 7d its closed as
Your request status changed to Resolved with resolution Declined. (HSCS-96 RFXCOM looses com port after HS restart)
oh and same thing goes for my other issue.. HSCS-97 Google Assistant on Android closed now... after 7d of no response from me...

wanted to beta hs4 and possibly use it.. but i cant..

im also having an issue with the aeonlabs current monitor as it is only seeing one of the devices vs the 2 that are plugged in.. guess i wont bother with that for now...

Got X10 to work. Really didnt do anything special. Just went in, created a virtual device. Had to go and set X10 address first, else first page got wiped (name, floor, room, etc).

so I have a Lutron dual controlled outlet in the basement that the traveler wire goes outside to 2x WR outlets and they work. Have an x10 outlet by the door, and one by a garage door. All working and in an event. One Zwave Intermatic Appliance module in the event too...

Update... I haven't been using HS much at all lately with lack of Google Voice...
Needed to remote into my HS box as a power surge reboot it so I took that time to figure out what is going on.

I hit windows + R and typed shell:startup to which brought me to the folder
I looked and saw my HS4.cmd file and double clicked it... HS did not launch.
edit the file and noticed it was c:\program files (x86)\HS3\HS4.exe and I went and looked. HS3 folder doesnt exist and I know this was working so I do not know why or how but none the less, I edited the file to HS4 folder and now the cmd file works.

                      Great...

so reboot and made sure the machine auto logged in and started HS and it did... Good...

then it said upgrade... so I upgraded and now am on the latest.

That was last week. Today I was like, wish Google integration would work, so I launched Home from my Note 20 Ultra and went through the steps. I received a different scenario this time. Instead of it just dropping back to the apps list and not adding Homeseer... it said " there are no devices in Homeseer". That got me thinking so I went into the console and looked. I checked off voice control on 2 items, went in and updated and BOOM!!! Google Home devices now control!!!! went in and enabled the rest and google home is working for me AGAIN!!!!

Now back to locating the THC-138's I have all over the place. Found most but 2... not sure where they are but they are the same temp, so must be together and most likely in a parts box.

I even have one outside, wedged in between the rungs of the plastic ladder... workin 2nd year now...
