well maybe i left it to vague?

          ok so i
          Click Devices
          Click +
only virtual device shows - which is what I want.

I then click on it and on the next screen I get what you see below.
I want to create a virtual device as ^1
but since only x10 tab shows up, i can only set X10 values and I still use X10...

You can ignore that X10 tab. In my case I have a Modbus tab. But when you continue the device will not be linked to that.

so maybe im not understanding.... which is most likely it.. hah..

so are we saying.. there is no longer a need to enter device codes?

so we can just create virtual devices and not worry about giving say ^1 or {2 or anything?

we can create devices and events will work off of them then?

i forget what i wanted to create, but it will come back to me when i get back into this...

but just create a device, give name, floor, room and boom... all good no need for house code..

Your deduction appears correct. My new virtuals are up and working with just has a reference ID and has no code attached to them.

My virtual always just worked even in HS3. I would opt to change wording or add other ranges but the basic On/Off always worked right off the bat.
