HS4 Beta 4.2.9.0 is available!

This build is being posted for testing and feedback. We have done some internal code reorganization so we want to post this build with minimal changes to ensure that core functionality was not affected by the code modifications. We would appreciate you updating to this build and giving us some feedback. Make sure you back up your system before updating!

If there are no significant issues with this build we will make this the next official public release.

Installing:

Before installing any Beta it is a good idea to back up your system! Run the backup from the tools menu. On Windows you can simply copy the HS4 folder to another folder. Just copy it back if needed.

* You can install this Beta from within HS4, just go to the General page in Setup (Windows or Linux)

Reverting to a previous version on Windows:

Uninstall HS4 (it will not remove any config files, plugins, etc.). Then install your previous version and install into the same folder as your previous install.

Reverting to a previous version on Linux:

On the PI-HUB/ZEE S2/SEL or your own Linux install. You can simply re-install the release version from setup.

Thanks, there might be an issue with C# scripts, I will look into it.

I use the Designer here with a bunch of clients and I don't see any issue. Can you check the HS log and see if there are any errors?

This is most likely a firewall issue as your firewall is seeing a new .exe.

No issues here. i like the new look of the events, and plugin update icon. Also like the possibility to copy event directly from a particular event.

Has the serialization of the event actions been reverted back to a parallel process ?

This version breaks all ASPX web pages on Windows. If anyone uses my programs with web pages, DO NOT upgrade!

Perhaps someone can test on Linux as I'm not going to upgrade my version.

I don't want to deviate from the issues that you are having, I wanted to say, great progress with these updates. Rich, on the other releases could you implement a way to see on the list of events where I have my notes on that particular event? Would be extremely nice if I could point the mouse on the note icon and see what the note is all about. Nice work.

After installing 4.2.9.0, HS wont store my device order in 'deviceutility' following the latest beta update.

PublicKeyToken .......... is not marked as serialisable

Last night about 7:30 I attempted to install the 4.2.9.0 beta onto my Hometroller SEL (Linux) from the setup screen. Homeseer crashed and the SEL is no longer reachable via a browser, WebMin, vnc, or SSH or even a ping. Attaching a keyboard and monitor yields a screen with a "SHELL" prompt and a statement about 'map' not working.

Obviously (to me) is that I need to restore the SEL to operation. Can someone tell me how to get it working again?

I found that I was stuck in the EFI SHELL. Using ''help' I located the 'exit' command, which caused a normal boot and now 4.2.9.0 is running properly.
