HS4 4.2.18.19 is ready for Beta testing!

HS4 4.2.18.19 is ready for testing.

This build fixes reported issues found with 4.2.18.18.

Changes from the last Beta are in the release notes.

PLEASE READ THE RELEASE NOTES BEFORE INSTALLING THIS BUILD!

Some new changes to device searching added to 4.2.18.18:

* The devices view updates "in place". This means less page refreshing.
* When you start typing in the chips area the matching search results appear immediately!
* You can search on status in chips area, enter: status=on (will display all devices that have a status of "On")
* The device properties now have a new tab named "Events". This lists all the events used by that device. The main (root) device lists all the events for all features. When viewing a feature, it lists only the events referenced by that feature. Buttons have been added so an event can be created using the device as a trigger or action.
* The plugins manage page now updates the plugin status in real time, no need to refresh to determine if a plugin has an error or is still starting.
* The device list can be set to a specific view mode with devices.html?view=grid (list)

When updating to build 4.2.17.X or later the saved format of the events has changed. If you go back to a previous build of HS4 (before 4.2.17.X) you will lose all of your event actions. Your configuration is backed up automatically when you update to a new version of HS4. You can use this back up if you downgrade your installation. As always, do a full back up of your system just to be safe! You can backup from the tools menu in HS4. See the release notes for more details.

Installing:

Before installing any Beta it is a good idea to back up your system! Run the backup from the tools menu. On Windows you can simply copy the HS4 folder to another folder. Just copy it back if needed.

* You can install this Beta from within HS4, just go to the General page in Setup (Windows or Linux)

rjh It would be much easier and certainly more open on your part if you would say what was fixed other than an existing bug. That way we'll know better if something was:
A) Acutually fixed
B) Not fixed
C) A new bug was introduced

If I click "Kitchen" in the drop down room list, then type "room=bathroom" I get nothing.
When I de-select "Kitchen" from the filters and only "room=bathroom" remains I still get nothing.
If I clear everything then I can type "room=bathroom" and it works.

Lastly, even though I had typed all that and cleared them all the display shows everything but the dropdown list for the Room button still shows checked. I think those drop downs need to reflect what's really displayed.

You lost me, release notes list what was changed, fixed. Please give me an example of what is confusiing.

You are doing 2 searches for the same thing and the search is confused. I will put in a fix for it. Not sure why you would do that though.

There are some issues with typing into that chips box and keeping other search criteria in sync. I am still looking into that. In a future update I am probably going to totally redo that entire filter bar. Too many different types of controls, input options.

sortby=name seems to work, however sortby=namedec doesn't

sortby=location and locationdec work

sortby=location2 and locationdec work { i guess we can't use our customer location2 value; mine is circuit }

showhidden=yes|no seem to work.

i have a tried a few combinations and they work as expected

try the following url on your site. it doesn't change the sort or UI at all. the page does reload but you get the standard name sort

Got it, I see the issue, typo in the code with that entry, it was doing a nameasc.
