HS4 4.2.18.21 is ready for Beta testing!

A newer build is now available

HS4 4.2.18.21 is ready for testing.

This build fixes reported issues found with 4.2.18.20.

Changes from the last Beta are in the release notes.

PLEASE READ THE RELEASE NOTES BEFORE INSTALLING THIS BUILD!

    All Changes: Release Notes

When updating to build 4.2.17.X or later the saved format of the events has changed. If you go back to a previous build of HS4 (before 4.2.17.X) you will lose all of your event actions. Your configuration is backed up automatically when you update to a new version of HS4. You can use this back up if you downgrade your installation. As always, do a full back up of your system just to be safe! You can backup from the tools menu in HS4. See the release notes for more details.

    Installing:

Before installing any Beta it is a good idea to back up your system! Run the backup from the tools menu. On Windows you can simply copy the HS4 folder to another folder. Just copy it back if needed.

    * You can install this Beta from within HS4, just go to the General page in Setup (Windows or Linux)

See the release notes for download links and instructions on how to revert to a previous version of HS4 if needed.

Update, I have the shutdown script on all 3 linux systems working now.
Something you may want to check, I left the original startup and shutdown scripts in place on 2 of the systems (guess which 2) and I enter a custom script name for each in the setup/custom page. I deleted the originals on both systems and they started working. I was able to test each system 3 times and it worked all 3 times on each.
The startup.vb and customstartup.vb were exactly the same files, the shutdown were different on each.
The trouble may be if the original scripts are in place, the custom page isn't being honored?

Installed the .21 beta and tested the location filters, it looks like the and/or issue is resolved. Thanks! I have not been brave enough to test the bulk edit select all checkbox yet though, hopefully someone else can confirm that is working as expected.

I did get this error on the first startup, not sure if its important or just a fluke.

I was anticipating that the default delay I added might not be enough so there is a setting you can add to control the shutdown delay. This delay is the time the system waits after executing the shutdown script. It gives the system time to process anything that the script may have started.

Can you change this delay and see if it helps. Shut down HS and edit the file settings.ini in the Config folder and add this line in the Settings section:

          ShutdownScriptWaitSecs=10

The time is in seconds and the default is 5. Try 10. You can try larger values if 10 does not work.

The error looks like its related to sending an log event to a plugin. Perhaps it was not fully initialized to handle the call. I suspect it can be ignored. See if it happens after the system is running for a while.

did the following make it into this beta build (.21)?

I can add this to the search with "address=###"
I'm not looking for an exact match with this search, but rather a partial match

for example if i enter address=27.B6.D4, hs4 will return all of these:

Amazon went down yesterday so got caught troubleshooting that, turned out to be their issue. I will be doing another build so I will get this in the next one.
