HS4 4.2.18.25 is ready for Beta testing!

There is a newer build available.

HS4 4.2.18.25 is ready for testing.

This build fixes reported issues found with 4.2.18.21.

Changes from the last Beta are in the release notes.

PLEASE READ THE RELEASE NOTES BEFORE INSTALLING THIS BUILD!

    All Changes: Release Notes

When updating to build 4.2.17.X or later the saved format of the events has changed. If you go back to a previous build of HS4 (before 4.2.17.X) you will lose all of your event actions. Your configuration is backed up automatically when you update to a new version of HS4. You can use this back up if you downgrade your installation. As always, do a full back up of your system just to be safe! You can backup from the tools menu in HS4. See the release notes for more details.

    Installing:

Before installing any Beta it is a good idea to back up your system! Run the backup from the tools menu. On Windows you can simply copy the HS4 folder to another folder. Just copy it back if needed.

    * You can install this Beta from within HS4, just go to the General page in Setup (Windows or Linux)

See the release notes for download links and instructions on how to revert to a previous version of HS4 if needed.

Please have a look at the events list. I added a new feature in 4.2.18.25 that allows you display the trigger for the event. I sometimes forget what the actual trigger of an event is and the event name does not include enough information. I then have to open each event. With the trigger displayed I can find the event I am looking for faster. Let me know if find this useful.

Show events triggers are a nice touch. Any chance of adding "Show Notes" for events?

I'm having an issue with 4.2.18.25. When I launch the browser (Chrome,Firefox, etc.) and select devices it just spins and never loads. If I use Jon00 tools Device Management it loads right away. I don't know what is causing this. I'll play a little more (it was fine before this update) then I'll have to roll back to my backup as HS won't run this way. I'm running Windows 11 HS4.Any Ideas??

Mine did that yesterday still running 4.2.18.21. A restart of HS cured it and it has not occurred again. Loading .25 now.

EDIT: 4.2.18.25 loaded and working fine.

Well I've reloaded (shut down and restarted, again) and it was the same. I shutdown again re-booted the PC and it loaded, seems OK. We'll see if it holds. Thanks Randy!

I tried upgrading from the latest production release 4.2.18.5 to the .25 Beta and received many errors on my event actions. The last part of the error message is "type error action type NOT supported selected network ". I am running Windows 11 version of HS4 with the latest ZWave release. The errors were all listed as ZWave errors. I reverted back to 4.2.18.5.

I just had the same issue too... Had to restart HS4 to clear it up. Seems to be an issue with the device filter (room/floor) toolbar. Mine was acting flaky each time I changed the filter to a different room before it finally hung and gave me the spinning circle.

A couple of weird things I noticed before it hung up:
                  • You could deselect a room, select a different room, hit save and the selection popup window would close as normal.. BUT it would still be filtered by the previous selection. After a WTF and another try it would usually work.
                  • When enabling bulk edit, occasionally the bulk edit button would move to the left side of the screen while bulk edit was active and the filter buttons would disappear, and then move back to the right side when deactivated and the filters would come back.
                  • A couple of times when I activated bulk edit, that entire row of buttons/controls disappeared (Floor, Room, Category, Search Field, etc.). Had to Ctrl F5 (force ignore cache) to get them to reappear.
Shortly afterward I got the spinning disk on a reload and Ctrl F5 wouldn't fix it that time.

The bright side is that it seemed like bulk edit was fixed.

                  FWIW,

                  --Barry

It happened to me again. The only way for me to clear the dreaded spinning wheel was to reboot HS4, once I did all worked again. Prior to reboot I could replicate all the same symptoms I quoted Barry on. I rolled back to 4.2.18.21 and everything is back to normal.

Well I spoke too soon. Major issues even my 4.2.18.21 doesn't like me. I can't install from the backup as it stays there then V.25 gave me this error:

I wasn't doing anything at the time of the error!

I have to uninstall HS4 and re-install V.21 and then restore the installation from a backup I guess.

I'm having the same issue. Had to restart several times since installing 4.2.18.25. Not sure if this is related, but today I noticed all (but a few) devices now have the same room location. Also the room list is missing the last 4 or so rooms. I have not added, removed, or edited rooms in forever. I'm not sure what the names of the missing rooms are exactly, is there a file/list on windows 11 some where. I have daily partial backups and weekly full backups.
