Dupe Devices after installing both release version and beta

    hey all.

Installed the release version yesterday, but nothing seemed to work and a bunch of errors in the log. Research led me to believe to install the beta over the top, which I did, and now everything seems to be running/communicating.

However... I now have duplicate devices for most of the devices, like LAN health, guest count, etc. Some of these haven't been updated since yesterday (first attempt at install) so can I just delete the dupes, or is there a cleaner way? Ironically, none of my actual devices (eg. switches, USG, etc) are duplicated.

In terms of the actual hardware devices, several have "warning" with them, but I have no idea why. Nothing on the Unifi controller dashboard indicates a warning of any kind... what is this signifying?

    Thanks.

As an aside.. I kept the one minute polling option, and it does seem to be updating some statuses, but not all. and very random with actual UB devices. For example, one AP is updating regularly, one hasn't updated since install).

Attempted to uninstall/reinstall following these directions. Now I have 3 of everything. Clearly I missed a file somewhere?

First off, disable the plugin in the Updater then delete it. After that delete any devices if any. Now remote into the system and go to the HomeSeer root folder and find a file "HSPI_MeiUnifi.config.exe" and delete it, within the HS root ===> open up the Config folder and delete ==> the MeiUnifi folder, back to the root folder open up the Bin folder and look for MeiUnifi folder and delete it. You may restart HS (optional)
Once done head to the beta section of the Updater and install the latest MeiUnifi plugin

I would remove all devices, remove the plugin and it's configs and start with the version in the Beta. Make sure you delete all devices. HS doesn't remove devices just because you uninstall a plugin.

You should start with zero Unifi devices. I will have to test some upgrades from the prod version to the beta to ensure this doesn't happen.

Install the production version first and the beta on top as an update!
          That fixes it.

OK... tried this. First deleted all devices rom the device management page.
            • Then deleted the folders and files from the root directory.
            • Installed the beta.
            • Added my controller data and named it. (small bug... if you name it in the controller config page, it should carry that name over to the device. no biggie... but would be nice).
            • Everything shows up with "warning".
            • After a bit (assume polling - I set this to 5 min). most switches and an AP change to "OK". But the same 4 from yesterday's install remain at "Warning". Again, these 4 never seem to update again?
            • Also, saw this in the Log, not sure what it is:
Warning Exception adding a (single VGPair) pair to the collection: Item has already been added. Key in dictionary: '0' Key being added: '0'
Turned on debug logging and stopped/started the PI. see this in the log - no errors:

Partial screenshot of devices. you can see the 4 that never update … the 10:38 time was the install time.

                Go over those posts again.

Remember to delete the devices as well. There could also a file in the bin folder. Just check to be sure

See my post above. I did delete all the devices and folders, etc.

it's loading fine. just seems to not update several of my devices.

None of the devices are updating , just the other statuses, like USG usage ,etc.

                    sirmeili, any additional thoughts?

You best start from scratch. I know it's a bit annoying but when it happened to me, l did it about three times before I got wright. First perform an uninstall of the plug-in from the Updater, then delete the devices from the UI. There is a file which is left behind in the main HomeSeer root folder and delete it. Then MeiUniFi folder inside the config folder and maybe one in the bin folder and another in the html folder and delete them.

To reinstall start with 3 0.0.0 and don't run it but update it with the beta 3.0.0.13 and then run it.

thanks for dealing with my frustration :-)

I really felt I did all this, but I think the install of the released version, followed by the beta, without starting it first, did the trick. Seems to be working now.

I set the logs to Debug, and watch one-by-one as I selected each device/status option. The only one that through up an error was "internet utilization" with this :
ct-20 10:32:12 AM Warning Exception adding a (single VGPair) pair to the collection: Item has already been added. Key in dictionary: '0' Key being added: '0'
I seem to remember another post on that i'll see if I can find.

                        Thanks again!

this is still not working correctly I believe. None of my actual UB devices have updated since the install, although all show "OK". I had a power outage recently, and it never changed anything in the PI. I have durned off Wan 1 IP option, but still nothing.

I know that sirmeili has been super busy (and will be moreso with the additional PI's Frank's taking on), but at this point, I don't feel comfortable buying this PI.

I'm super sorry about that. I do wish I had more time to work on this. The good thing is that when I'm able to put more time to it, you can request another trial from HST so you can try it out again. They are generally really good about that.
