TCP port monitoring and the ability to monitoring anything outside of the local subnet has been removed from UltraMon3. I have not decided if I'll be adding either feature to UltraMon3. I guess I'll see what type of demand there is for those 2 features.

I've been running the HS3 version of the plugin in trial mode and need to decide in the next couple of days as to whether I will purchase it. Can you confirm if these features will (or won't) be added?

      Ultramon multi subnet issue

I ma having a problem when adding multiple subnets to the list of monitored subnets.
I've used the following syntax i.e. 10.10.10.0/24 all is fine when I have single subnet, when I add say 10.10.10.11.0/24 I can not see the devices under the Devices TAB of the first subnet. When I enter just the 10.10.10.0 I no longer can access the Plugin configuration. Any ideas?

      Cheers

What subnets are you trying to monitor? 10.10.10.0/24 is valid, 10.10.10.11.0/24 isn't valid and 10.10.10.0 is a single address.

I am trying to monitor all ip's on the following subnets:

          10.10.1.0 host range 1-255
          10.10.2.0 host range 1-255
          10.10.3.0 host range 1-255

Also the point I was trying to make with entering single address of say: 10.10.1.0 after restarting the HS the plugin configuration options are no longer accessable. You need to delete the config files and restart the HS again to get back in.

Another item that I am having problem with is that if the system was registered on one IP then assigend to another MAC then I then have two IPs showing under the IP TAB for the same device old and new. Even though there is no conenction anymore on the first IP. Can you tell me how I can clean this up please.

          Thanks

UltraMon3 HSPI was designed to monitor home networks of around 255 devices. While UltraMon3 HSPI supports monitoring multiple subnets, you may experience delays in detecting hosts when scanning for 700+ IP addresses.

              You'll enter the following subnets:

              10.0.1.0/24
              10.0.2.0/24
              10.0.3.0/24

              Then restart HomeSeer.

At this point, I don't think the plug-in checks the subnet to clean up the other IP address is may have occupied in the past. I'll have to add code to do that.

Thanks Ultrajones. I did try doing this with just two subnets:

                10.10.1.0/24
                10.10.2.0/24

however when I select the IP Subnets tab I can then only see the IPs on the 10.10.2.0 subnet and there is an error when I try to select the 10.10.1.0 subnet.

Any idea how to resolve this?

                Regards

I cannot duplicate the issue you are reporting. Please try shutting down HomeSeer, then rename (or remove) the following files, then restart HomeSeer.

                    HomeSeer HS3\Data\ultramon3\ultramon3.db3
                    HomeSeer HS3\Data\ultramon3\ultramon3.xml

I'm having trouble with ALL IPs showing up! Then the log fills with "device address cannot be found" reports, as it apparently continues to ping something.....

I had that too. The only way I could clear this is by deleting the DB. But this is definitely not the right solution.

Can you look at the Device Management page, then filter on device type "Type: Plug-in: UltraMon3", then tell me if any of the devices have an empty "Address" field?
