    Where are my inhibit devices?

    I have 3 areas and have always had an inhibit device for each. I just noticed this past weekend that under 2.19.9.1 I didn't have the devices. Before bringing it up, I updated the plugin to 2.19.11.0 and the devices re-appeared. Looked this morning, and they're gone again? Is there a reason and if so a solution to get these back?

    I do have the Inhibit Rain Today, but not the others.

    Are the devices on the General Status but not in HS?

    Recently in 2.19.7.3 there was a change to sync the mcsSprinklers hide property and the HS device hide property. If they are hidden from General Status then they will be hidden from HS Device Management.

    There were also recent changes around the HS Floor and Room properties that have options to sync them to the Wiring names and Site names. I think these only related to valves, but I would have to look to confirm.

    If this does not describe it then provide a few more hints

      Nope... there are not even in the General Status page anymore. I have the one Inhibit Rain today device but it doesn't seem to matter if the 'H' box is selected or not. It still shows.

        mcsSprinklers looks in mcsSprinklers.ini at the bottom in the [ZONES] section to see if there are any valves defined for an Area. If none then it hides the devices associated with the Area. In my test configuration I have three Areas and one valve in each. The VALVE0 means in Area 1, VALVE1 in Area 2 etc.

        Code:
        [ZONES]
        :
        :
        VALVE0_0=MQT:sprinkler/cmnd:1
        VALVE1_0=GOC:1:1
        VALVE2_0=MQT:sprinkler/cmnd:2
        Anytime a Save from any setup page is performed it does the processing to hide/unhide the Area devices. A Save from the Layout or Zone Setup pages writes the [ZONES] group.

          Thanks Michael but I haven't made any changes to my configuration in years ... probably 8 to be precise. I don't understand how updating the plugin mucks with this? Looking at my Areas setup pages still show the zones associated.

            I ran down the issue, but surprised that it was not noticed years ago. The original Area inhibit devices only contained inhibits due to a start time being specified. If no start time then the inhibit device was hidden. I suspect when the sync with HS on hidden device properties was done in 2.19.7.3 it became visible in HS that the area inhibit device was hidden in mcsSprinklers.

            With http://mcsSprinklers.com/mcsSprinkle...9_11_1_HS3.zip the hide property of the area inhibit devices are only dependent upon use of the area.

              So is this a configuration issue on my part? I understand how the inhibit devices work. I do have start times specified. I've been watching them all along and noticing that they show that the inhibit is a result of time and/or rain.

                No issue on your side. Originally the Area inhibits were only associated with having setup a specific start time for an Area. Later they were expanded as the Area was given the same setup capability as the site to have various inhibits. The hiding of the inhibit device was not updated when then other inhibits were added (likely around 10 years ago). What changed recently is that HS device hide property was sync'd with the mcsSprinklers hide property so these Area inhibits were hidden unless a start time was setup for an Area. You do not need to make any configuration changes. Just update the .dll and if you want to have the version reporting updated then the HSPI...exe as well.
