Forecasted rain does not inhibit irrigation as expected

I noticed today that one of my zones in an area that has been setup to inhibit with forecasted rain did in fact water the garden.

The area is setup to inhibit if Within Next 2 days if forecasted with 2 mm.

In the general status tab the forecast for tomorrow shows 7mm.

    Am I missing something?

Inhibit for rain forecast is based upon the forecast that has been downloaded in the last two hours and in your case it will look for the first two of the five days prediction. The algorithm looks if the forecast rain for any day over the period specified is above the threshold.

One difficulty some have is during the transition period from the provider when they change the day.for the forecast. Some do it at midnight and others do it at 6 PM. There may be other times as well. Another difficulty is that the forecast changes throughout the day so at some point the forecast may not have been such that the max over the last two days was not above 2 mm.

To review past execution the debug should be enabled from the bottom of the Other page. It will show the forecast updates and the inhibit logic. The debug is available from the bottom of Other page via email or at \html\mcsSprinklers\data with the filename containing the time of creation. It is best to write the current debug file out to clear the cache before capturing the file for review. Also be careful to get the correct file rather than the new one that is just starting after the other was written. Observe the size of the file as a hint.

Since there are so many weather provider options and generally each has its own quirks that need to be handled it is useful to know your specific setup. This is in \Config\mcsSprinklers.ini. Email is mcsSolutions at CenturyTel dot net.

Issue resolved in version 2.19.14.0. Problem was introduced with OWM forecast that provides volume rather than probability percentage. I do not expect to submit to updater until January to relieve HST burden for holidays and HS4 release. The update consists of two files that are available at http://mcsSprinklers.com/mcsSprinklers_2_19_14_0.zip. Both go into the HS folder. HSPI_MCSSPRINKLERSP.exe and MCSPRINKLERS_2009.dll.
