USB Interface

I am installing my sprinkler system and I am planning on using a Rain8Net Controller, MCS software and Homeseer. My two Comm ports are in use. I noticed Rain8 sells a RS232/USB converter. Are there any issues with this interface and the Rain8Net, MCS software and Homeseer?

That USB device should work fine. If it were any other device I would not recommend it but WGL does a good job testing their products.

I agree with Rupp, the USB interface should present no problem. If it does then other suppliers are available. I have evaluated it with Byterunner's version of the USB/Serial. The WGL versions should work just as well. You may want to consider a multiport RS232 so you will have room for your next toy. Another option is the IP-based serial ports rather than the USB-based.
