mcsSprinklers only run on communication test.

    I have checked my Rain8net Pro modules work and I can do the following;

The condition that test com works and mcsSP reads eeprom shows that communication is out of the issue pool.
But mcsSP can not use schedule or manual to operate zones / valves. Visually and in logs I see a manual start
for 2 minutes as a test indicate a ON condition on the zone / valve.

    here is a test of R7 9:41

Calendar View of Zone History R7 : Rain8 Front Porch Drip A1: Area 1 Status 101% Today 9:41 AM for 15 mins

    &

    7/17/2013 9:41:27 AM R7 Rain8 Front Porch Drip OFF
    7/17/2013 9:41:35 AM R7 Rain8 Front Porch Drip ON

but no zone / valve output of water.

Can mcs inhibit zone / valve on with a manual selection?

Where can I check those settings / that out?

(Setup- Hardware is configured as mcsSP Pro with Vcom 3.6.3 serial to IP
to an xs1000 IP to serial converter connected to rain8net modules 1 and 2
set to 4800 baud and using alternative telnet port 24 since port 23 is busy on HS2 ver xx.80

read and write eeprom values from mcsSP Pro
communications test operate the zones / valves briefly in a test sequence
rain8 demo works with the modules

Might be something simple- but I am not finding it.

Where can I email the developer? I do not see email address.

I have logs and .ini file that might help.

I think what you are asking is why valves do not open when commanded.
The log segment you show is mcsSprinklers responding to the user request to control a valve. This looks normal.
In normal use the EPROMs are not involved with mcsSprinklers actions. Actually when Warren developed the PRO version of the modules the loop was not closed so attempts at programming EPROM using mcsSprinklers may not work. To program the EPROM you should use the WGL-provided setup/demo software.
In manual operation there are no inhibits honored and the log segment you showed indicated no inhibits prevented communications.
I do not know if you are connected directly via IP or if you are using a virtual COM / demulated COM. If you are using a COM driver for your IP/Serial interface then the SerialIO page will show the low level communications.
If you post your /config/mcsSprinklers.ini then the setup questions can be answered.

      update

      Update:

I installed serial port monitoring software to see exactly what was being transmitted. I found that when I ran the communications test, or the read/write to eprom, there was data being transmitted. However, when the manual or automatic control functions were used, MCS did not send anything to the serial port.

I have also attached my settings file with the personal info removed.

Tried another test with serial monitoring.....

Deleted all the mcs devices, restarted HS and reinstalled from start. Same issue. Communication test - operates valves but the manual test - does not or even write to serial com port. Nothing.

The serial monitor is great, it shows all or nothing as the case may be. Mcs is silent writing to com port when a manual valve process is started.

I am on my way to South America witout computer, but can from your file that the house code for the Rain8net is R and that is only appropriate for Standalone. For HS it should be special character. Don't know how R was selected but when tyying to. Control by device cdoe it does not recognize it as a serial device using Rain8net protocol. Look at HS log on startup for mcssprinkler initialization errors
