    Moving MCS on other computer

    Hi,
I read it several months ago the technique to move the configuration MCSsprinklers one computer to another.

And I copied the file mcssprinklers.mdb

I lost part of my setup. My operation was certainly not correct. What is the right way to go about it.

    Thank you!

The setup is in \Config with mcsSprinklers.ini and mcsSprinklers_Interview.ini
The history is in a database. The default database is Access at \data\mcsSprinklers\mcsSprinklers.mdb. HS should not be running when you do copy these files.

This assumes you previously used the updater to install in on your new HS. To get to the most current beta, use the facility provided on the Other Page. It can also be done manually be using the zip that is referenced on the top thread in this forum.

      Hello,
Thanks you, it's run correctly after moving this three files.

What is the best strategy to take backup of all major FILES given the fact that the database must be closed during operation?
      Thank you!

        Hello,
I have this message on my log :

        2013-10-06 08:07:00 mcsSprinklers ExecuteCommand UPDATE tblSprinklers SET a9381Moisture____I=87,94511,a9381MinutesCum__I=200, a9382Moisture____I=87,94511,a9382MinutesCum__I=137600, a9383Moisture____I=87,94511,a9383MinutesCum__I=143700, a9387Moisture____I=87,94511,a9387MinutesCum__I=77800, a9385Moisture____I=87,94511,a9385MinutesCum__I=22500, a9384Moisture____I=87,94511,a9384MinutesCum__I=110800, a9386Moisture____I=87,94511,a9386MinutesCum__I=110800, a9388Moisture____I=87,94511,a9388MinutesCum__I=90000 WHERE ID=47753 Line 0 Erreur de syntaxe dans l'instruction UPDATE.

        What is?

It is objecting to a9386Moisture____I=87,94511 with the comma being the decimal in a database expression.

What I am surprised about is that this has not shown up over the years before. With 2.13.0.27 I rounded to an integer the moisture percentage before writing to the database.

I tried to create a circular backup of 10 each time it restarted, but had a similar issue when I ported to .NET. It was functional in the VB6 version. I don't remember the details and did not pursue it. I don't have any automated backup suggestions

            Hello,
I set my regional settings to English (USA). For now I have no messages in the log.

              Michel,

Aside from the database backups I do screen shots of my configurations pages. I have only changed my weather station source on the stand alone mcsSprinklers for Linux box (which is almost identical to what you are running today).

I haven't touched or changed the configuration in quite a while. I did cleanse my DB last week and getting ready to shut down mcsSprinklers for the season in the next week or so.
