I am migrating my standalone mcsSprinklers installation from Windows Home Server v1 (Server 2003-based) to a new box with Server 2012 R2 Essentials.
I have worked out and verified a procedure for migrating the configuration and history data. This has been tested satisfactorily with mcsSprinklers running as a trial on the target machine.
What I am uncertain about is how to transfer the mcsSprinklers licence key.
It seems that the information in "mcsSprinklers_License.ini" is tied to the hardware, and is not transferable.
I have already used up two of my three allowed trial periods on the new server while testing the data migration, so I don't want to end up shut out.
Michael, what is the correct process to get my licence across to the new instance?
