    off-the-shelf antenna for UK?

Hi, I've bought a 310MHz WG800RF32 USB and live in the UK.

Can anyone help me find a 'better' antenna that I can buy in the UK as a direct replacement for the one that came with the W800? I've looked at various threads and in the USA the radio shack one seems most popular, is there an equivalent in the UK I can buy (don't want to have to make)?

I'm having reception issues from my loft (attic) to various MS14 located about 20ft away outside below on the fence, front door, etc. (so perhaps 25ft straight line).

    Thanks!

It turns out that the radio shack antenna is available in the uk (http://www.t2retail.co.uk/Scanning_A...canner_Antenna).

In the manual for this antenna it mentions a PL-259 connector. Given I have the standard RG-59 cable with f-type connectors at each end that came with my W800, what is the easiest way to connect this antenna to the W800 using my existing cable? (just using connectors, no cable mods)

PL-259 to BNC (exists?), then BNC to f-type connector? What about loss/reflections (wikipedia: "means they create significant reflections above 300 MHz")?

    Many thanks!

      Hi,
Hi, I have this antenna and it works great. I put it in the basement by the furnace near my HS server and it works great.

There is a connector, I just recently bought one. The US WGL uses an 'F Type" connector, and there is one in the US catalog that is a PL-259 to "F Type" which is what US cable TV uses and the us W800.

Here are the parts from the same site
