    BC4 weak ir-signal

    In fact I moved and got a new IPTV-Decoder from Nokia KMM 3010-SC. Device=35.176; Protocol=Nokia32; Frequency=36360

The BC4 certainly learned the new ir-codes and it works, but surprisingly the signal from ir-LED connected to the BC4 ir-port is very weak. This is not the case for all other codes learned (other 6 devices). For all codes except the Nokia the ir-LED signal is strong and clear. What could that be? The signal is so weak for Nokia that it is often not received properly.

As reference some codes for the Nokia:
    1-on/ff; 2-volume up; 3-volume down

En example of strong and clear signals for my Denon Ampli
    1-on/ff; 2-volume up; 3-volume down

    Can somebody help on that

The "weak" appearance of the flashing LED would not be due to power output, but simply the different timings of those particular codes. Codes with longer/more "on time" would appear brighter, and codes with less "on time" would appear dimmer.
If the codes seem to work, but are intermittent, I would suggest experimenting with emitter placement first. Though the output may appear to be be lower to the naked eye due to the dimness of the flasher, the periods of on time are just as powerful as any other code, and the IR receiver in the Nokia decoder box may be getting over-driven. Try moving the emitter off-center, holding it slightly away from the IR receiver, etc, until you find a sweet spot.

      thanks

      Many thanks

But doing so I found out that I had as well an interference problem. In fact the ir-LED of the BC4 is not directly on the ir-receiver of the Nokia decoder but on a ir-radio transmitter. After relocating this one as well everything is working fine
Many thanks this was great help
