    The problem is that will not fit in the existing case. The case that came with the receiver is only half filled with the board so I "think" a stacked 4 AAA holder would fit inside. Of course Radio Shack didn't have these in stock so it's off to try to find one elsewhere.

      I was thinking of piggybacking one of these with velcro to the outside of the case for ease of access to the battery compartment.

        Yep, that top on is the one I'm looking for. I hope I can find it locally but that's not looking likely.

          40 meter car powered mod

          Here are a couple of pictures of my 40 meter car powered mod. I used the 4 AAA batery enclosure from Radio Shack above. I connected it to middle and right most terminals and also left the car adapter socket in place so I can actually use both if I wanted to. I simply drilled a small hole in the cover to get the wires into the case. Used velcro to keep the two enclosures together.
