All,
I'm ready to switch from an X10 thermostat controlled directly by HomeSeer to an RCS 485 serial thermostat connected directly to the Elk. However, I want to be able to control the thermostat temp and see the status via the Elk plugin (which I use for security setting changes in the Elk via HS). Will I be able to do that once I hook up the stat? Will temp, status, fan setting, etc., appear as devices in the plugin? I realize I could log into the Elk from a web page, but I'd rather just go through HomeSeer.
If the plugin won't do it, does anyone have other suggestions? I know there's a serial thermostat plugin, but would that work for control if my stat is connected directly to an M1XSP (the Elk)? I definitely want to get away from X10 for HVAC, and to connect it directly to the Elk b/c it's so blasted stable.
Thanks,
Joe
