    buttons gone again

I have lost all of my buttons on the camera page again. This is the 3rd I have restarted and still nothing. Last two times I had to rermove the plugin, reinstall delete cameras and reinstall. I do not want to have to keep doing this. Why are they disappearing? This is driving me crazy. It seeems everytime I actually need to check a camera from the net, they are not there.

    Please help
    Kirk

When the buttons disappear do any camera's show up in the config form (Camera/AVI tab)? Can you send me a copy of the hspi_Hauppauge_Capture.ini file (in the config folder) and I'll take a look at it.

Were there any changes made to any part of the homeseer installation?

Ok this is wierd. If the cameras all still appear in the camera/avi tab, I don't quite understand what could have happened. I see why the buttons disappeared on the web pages - it's because the [CameraSettings] section of the ini file is empty. The section gets wiped out and recreated when you update the configuration when you click OK on the config form. Do any error messages appear (on the screen or in the HS log) when you click OK on the config form? Try it and let me know. After you click OK look in the ini file and see if there are any cameras listed in the [CameraSettings] section.

Just as a precaution, you should make backups of the ini file when the [CameraSettings] all appear properly so it is easy to restore them without restarting from scratch.

          yes errors are present

          I get the following errors:

27/07/2006 8:25:21 PM - Hauppauge Captu - Request to show CapConfig Received
27/07/2006 8:25:32 PM - Hauppauge Captu - An unexpected error occured in the cbCameraSetting_Click(0) function/subroutine: [5 - Invalid procedure call or argument]
          27/07/2006 8:26:04 PM - Hauppauge Captu - An unexpected error occured in the UpdateCameraZoneAssignments(210) function/subroutine: [13 - Type mismatch]
          27/07/2006 8:26:05 PM - Hauppauge Captu - CapConfig terminated

I have noticed that when I go into set up my caneras they no longer save my changes. I have set this up a few times for each camera and they do not save. What is this error telling me?

Which version of the plugin are you running? I submitted 4.1.2 to the updater but I don't see it in the HS1.7 updater yet. I didn't check to see if it is in the HS 2 updater.

              One question

After a configuration change to the plugin, I have found that you need to do a HS reset before the plugin will recognize the cameras. Has happened to me a few times before I finally figured it out.

              Just something I found.

                Version 4.1.1

I am running vR 4.1.1 I am using hs2. I have rebooted many times and my cameras are not back. Ok I will check for the new version. I guess I am going to have to get a clean ini file and start again.
