  • Hauppauge PVR-150 not working! Is there a list of supported cards?

I am trying to get the Hauppauge Capture plugin to work on a Hometroller (HomeSeer build 2.2.0.18) with the PVR-150. I have tried the drivers that come with the PVR and the latest drivers from Hauppauge's website. The plugin recognizes the card just fine but it will NOT let me change any settings in the configuration utility. I get an error when I click OK. Here is my entire Hauppauge Capture portion of the log file for HomeSeer:

If I can't get my PVR-105 to work, is there a card that will work? I don't need to do anything fancy, I really just want to display realtime video on a page in HomeSeer (but the webcam plugin won't work either - so that's out of the question).

    Thanks!

If you go into device manager, how many video capture devices are listed?

      Following Same Path

      Airwolf123 & Bryan

Airwolf seems to be following my same path and maybe the post below, "Identifier Trouble" will help him.

My advice is to read Bryan's instructions very closely, read between the lines a bit, you have to shift some files around to proper folders and create the AVI & Capture folders in the proper place. It will fall into place and will function but as Bryan said "when it works it works".

My main problems were getting the embedded WMP to play the stream from the server and all though I could take snapshots I could not get it to record AVI streams. When it worked it worked, too many times it wouldn't and I would have to restart HS and too many times I couldn't connect to the stream.

Sorry Bryan but you only bang your head against the wall so many times. I would imagine you put alot of time and effort into creating this.

My unusual work around was this. My cameras are regular NTSC output types, so I created a internal cable network. Each camera has its own multi-channel (selectable) RF modulator so I have a camera on CH 65, 67, 69 etc. The camera network feeds a VCR and the VCR out feeds my WinTVGO card so changing the channel on the VCR changes what the WinTVGo sees. The video software I'm using is CamPanel from Eagletron for snapping pics and recording streams from the cameras. It also streams video over your network etc and lets you use USB and Ethernet cameras also.

Motion sensor sends a signal to HS, HS sends an X10 command to my Ocelot controller which in turn sends an IR signal to the VCR for the proper camera channel. The WinTVGo card has proper channel and CamPanel snaps & records video for a preset time. A Saturday to set up and bingo, job done for my app.

Again, sorry Bryan but it was just not doing what I wanted it to do.
