    Need help getting this going

I am struggling with getting this plug-in going. I can't seem to get the HS Connection to be set. Homeseer and Sage are on the same server.

    Homeseer reports- 8/31/2010 9:48:20 PM - InControl_Sage - ERROR - Sage host not responding (192.168.x.x)

Have run across things to check in the forums but still can't get it talking. Hoping to get some pre-sales support here.

What I did to get it to work was to stop HS and the SageTV service, remove all settings (delete the hspi_incontro.ini from the HS/Config directory and delete all lines starting with "lamanmi" in the .properties files in the SageTV directory).

Started the SageTV service and HomeSeer and suddenly everything worked.

I don't run either as a service but tried shutting both programs down and doing as you suggested. Still no luck.

Was able to get a little further by modifying the hspi_inControl.ini file. Now can't seem to get past the ID/Password validation.

                  mhog,

For user id and password, be sure that is set up as a web user in HomeSeer. Also to see if HomeSeer is getting an ID password:

                  - Change the HomeSeer InControl log settings to 4
                  - Go to Sage and the InControl Options in sage and click "Click to Login"
                  - Then see if the HomeSeer log has your user id and password (note password is "*", but be sure the number of "*" is the number of characters in your password).

For your initial issue, some other questions:

                  - Does your server have a fixed or dynamic IP address?
-When you entered the HomeSeer IP/Name in Sage did you enter an ip address or computer name?
                  - Did Sage complete the configuration at one point?

You can also try in Sage to use "localhost" as the HomeSeer IP/Name in Sage.

If you still have issues, it would be helpful if you can follow the process below:

                  - Turn on logging in InControl on HomeSeer to 4
                  - Enable Sage TV Debug logging
                  - Fully exit Sage and then HomeSeer
                  - Start HomeSeer and then Start Sage
                  - In Sage go to the Control option
                  - Send me both the Homeseer and Sage log files.

                  Michael

Sorry Michael, I just plain ran out of time to mess with this. Now getting back to it both I see that both trials have expired. I will just try again someday when things are stable. Thanks for trying to help me out.
