server on 2 machines

I spent some more time playin with this and figured out that I can go on my son's computer(MS client is installed) and control my desktop( server and client installed) Question is if i install the server on my son's computer so I can control his desktop will that work?

Why don't you use RDP or VNC to control the other PC?

why start another program when message server is already running. Besides I tried the remote desktop once and the backgrounds and grafix didn't show up just got a blue sbackground with the desktop icons.

I think you could - the client on the machine you are at will need to know which server to connect to, so you will have to changer the server address each time. Also each server would need a different IP address (which on a LAN they already should).

Give it a try and let us know how it works out.

I may have another prob. Don't have HS on the other computer so will message serve work stand alone? How and what files do I install on the other computer?

Message Server is not a stand alone program only HomeSeer can start the program.
You will have to use DavidL suggestions.
