Sometimes the MS Client will not quit when I shutdown Windows

I am using Windows XP Home and sometimes when I shutdown the PC, MS Client will not exit.

It pops up a message saying "Cannot quit" and then the PC does not shutdown. I have to issue the shutdown again, but first I have to manually quit out of the MS Client.

Christian, have you seen this before?

Could you take a look and see if you can fix this. I am using the most recent version of the MS Client, but I have seen the problem in multiple versions.

    TIA
    Cheers,
    Bob

    Bob,

I never saw the “Cannot quit” message. Is this a Windows or MS_Client message?
If you got a chance try just disconnect the client maybe it busy with something.

Since it’s only happening sometime this will not be easy to reproduce on my side. If you could find how to reproduce that bug it would help.

    Thanks,
    Christian

      Christian,

Just re-produced the error. Here is an image of the error. It is definitely coming from MS Client.

        Bob,

Now I see it’s because of the message telling you that the connection was lost.
I replaced that message to use the log instead.

I will send an update for the updater before the end of the week.

        Thanks,
        Christian

            Bob,

I didn’t have time to post to the updater yet. Testing is sometime very long.
Can you try this version to make sure I got that bug fixed?

            Thanks,
            Christian

              Christian,

I installed it. The version still shows as 1.4.20.

I still noticed that the Connection lost popup message box is still showing as well. I had thought you mentioned that you were not going to pop up a message box anymore, but just log it in the log.

The popup I am referring to is attached.

              TIA

                Bob,

You should have the client version 1.4.22. I recompiled both applications the server is version 1.4.30 and the client is version 1.4.23. Sorry for the trouble.

                Message Server 1.4.30

                Thanks,
                Christian

                  Christian,

                  Worked good.

I noticed that it put the connection was lost in the log, but it did popup the MS Client log when I exited from HS.

Here is a picture of what I mean. This window popped up on its own.

It is great that it logged the connection was lost in the log, but can you set it so that it does not pop up any window at all.

                  TIA

                    Bob,

I did another little change to disable this message. I’m not sure what happening here, your computer must be really slow or really fast. You should still see the window pop up to show the saving process before closing thought.

                    Thanks,
                    Christian
