HS 2 HSP message to Message Server

Need some help here. I havs HS2 with HSphone. I have an event set to trriger when a voice message is left. I have message server selected to send a message to all clients with the following info:

A Message Has been Left in $MailboxName at $time, $date. The call is from $CallFrom, $CallNumber

What I get at the client is: A Message Has been Left in $MailboxName at 10:00am, 02/24/06. The call is from $CallFrom, $CallNumber

The mailbox that a message has been left does not seem to work also if I am remembering correctly neither does the callfrom & call number , I may be wrong about that but sure about the Mailbox name not working .

I have include a screen shot of the settings. I may have something setup incorrectly. What are the two "Show boxes for???

I did a test with the log.txt and all variable has been changed correctly using the event. Those debug line should not be there and the variable are not changed in the first debug line.

Here what I get as test.

A Message Has been Left in Grey Hawk at 2:53:48 PM, 3/4/2006. The call is from Frank Scott, 361-xxx-xxxx

Broke after updating to HS 2.1.49

This was working under 2041 but I updated to HS 2.1.49 look at the screen shot
all the commands like $MailboxName & $callFrom are missing and there replaced with

Invalid incoming data from the phoneWeb plug-in
              Please contact the plug-in developer.

              any ideas Christian

Something probably changed on HS Phone I will have to install that version to see what the problem is.

                    danielbo,

If you are looking for the Message server plug-in, it is in the Updater. It is listed as "Message Server Plug-in BETA" and the current version is 1.4.0.274. I have been using it for a year or so and have had great luck with it.

Upgraded to HS 2.1.66 to see if that would fix it. But no Joy.

Christian when do you think you will have a update to fix this?

No problem I understand. with HS 2 in constant development and changes that change every time the wind blows its hard to keep up. At times I wish that I never left 1.7 but I did and now I must hope for the best. It has been getting better with each beta for the most part. I expect by the end of this year we will again have a stable platform to work from. The HS folks have been working hard to make it happen and some of the issues are from plugin builders building to one spec and then some change causes a problem. I thank you for all you hard work and trying to keep up with this.

                          just my 2 cents
                          Hang in there.

I understand the frustration in trying to keep up with HS2 changes,

but does this mean that Message server will no longer be supported on HS2?

Should I remove message server from my list of plugins? If this last problem will not be fixed then any further changes in HS2 will just make message server further out of line and not supported. I don't want to really invest any effort in setting up many events and custom messages and find out a little later that the whole plugin is not being supported.

I believe that plug ins that are being sld through Homeseer should have a commitment to be supported , or at least have the project taken over by a third party.

                              Guys,

Have you taken a look at Setup-->Phone-->Additional Phone Interface Options?

Here's what I have in the last caller message:

                              HTML Code:
                              Call from #CallerIDName# (#CallerIDNumber#) at #CallerIDTimeDate#. <br><br> <a href="http://%HS_SERVER%:5190/hspw?page=callerid">CallerID</a>
And, here's what I have in the last voice mail message:

                              HTML Code:
A voice mail message was left at #CallDateTime# by #CallFrom#. The message length is #Length#. The call came from #CallNumber#. <br><br> <a href="http://%HS_SERVER%:5190/hspw">Message</a>
Then, I have a couple simple events that are called to send the information to Message Server:

                              Code:
                                 sub message_server_display_cid()

                                 	hs.plugin("message server").messagetoclient hs.LastCallerInfo(1), "Incoming Call", 1,True,True

                                 end sub

                                 sub message_server_display_voicemail()

                                 	hs.plugin("message server").messagetoclient hs.LastVoicemailInfo, "Message Left", 2,True,True

                                 end sub
I think the replacement variables you folks are talking about (above) were created through collaboration between Christian and Jeff Farmer when he wrote phoneWeb. HS then bought phoneWeb from Jeff, and modified it. I don't believe they knew about the replacement variables, then, and that might be the disconnect. I've been using the methodology I've just related for some time with HS2, with no problem. The 2.1 beta seems to have trouble extracting info about the voicemail file, however, because I think it isn't getting closed. I've submitted a help desk ticket on the matter already.

                              Hope that helps someone.
