    Booting computer with Temp08 powered

When I boot up my HS computer with the Temp08 powered up, the computer hangs and never completes the boot. When the Temp08 is unpowered, the computer boots fine. Does the Temp08 dump data to the computer through the COM port on its own ? Has anyone else seen this?

TEMP08 is continuously (timing will depend on your poll interval setting) sending data to the host PC via the COM port. This shouldn't cause a boot problem, and I've never seen this happen.

Can you explain more about your set up? Is the COM port via a USB connection, perhaps? Is there possibly a ground loop between your PC and TEMP08? Do you happen to know where your PC hangs in the boot sequence?
