you can chart just about an device with powertrigger. you just need to setup an event using the powertrigger action (PowerTrigger-Write Device to Log or CSV) to write values to a log file. The temp conversion is just an option, not a requirement

Thanks mnsandler, for responding, thats means that I can have a graphic for lets say, how many times you open a door, or how many times your water pump was on and how long its was off? is powertrigger easy to use? And by the way can you tell me what a "CSV" ?

i haven't actually tried the graphing, but people on the forum seem to have success with it

And by the way can you tell me what a "CSV" ?

CSV - comma separated value. its just a text file format for saving data. then apps like a charting program (included in powertrigger) can graph the data.

If you dont use it for charting, what are you exactly using it for? Pardon me asking.

powertrigger also has other features... I was using it for logging to csv files.. the files got large... you are then supposed to run cleanup scripts and stuff to clean them up. I believe it also allows say if you double tap a button you can have it run other things... also shadowing devices..... if you download it and look at the manual it has it all in there... documented pretty well...

I (the author) don't really use PowerTrigger for charting sensors. I mean, it does that, but I mostly use it for Powerful Triggers.

For example, I have an activity that turns on the MBR heater if the bedroom is cold, then waits 15 minutes, then gradually (far slower than the switch supports internally) dims a light up to 300 watts in the bedroom, and then turns other lights and stuff on, and turns stuff off later. This is all on a trigger that has separate times for weekdays, saturday and sunday. (Sunday isn't Saturday due to church.) And it has override (vacation) and one-time override (e.g. used that for Friday the Fourth), so I can easily change it just once and have it go back to normal.

For example, if I hit the "MBR Heater On" X10-remote signal twice in 5 seconds, rather than just once, it fires off a script that turns on the heater but turns it back off 15 minutes later. Perfect for heating up the bedroom a bit and creating some white noise.

For example, I can dim Z-Wave lights easily using the X10-to-Z-Wave translator in PowerTrigger. By mapping them, not only does On and Off work, but so do the dimming commands.

Which means I can use the X10 PalmPad remotes, which are cheap and easy to set-up, rather than expensive hard-to-configure Z-Wave "controllers". (But I have to tolerate a bit of a delay.)

Techno, thanks for the file, been reading the alert chapter and trying to apply this to a situacion where my wife wakes up during the week at 5:20am, but in others days shes wakes up at 5:55 am,but then somes times she wants to wake up later then 6:10. this is not all the time, one week can be normal, but the other week can change. Aim trying to unstand your exaples, but need a little guidence.

Okay, so here's how you would use it...

Go to the PowerTrigger page by clicking on the PowerTrigger button on the toolbar. Load or create an "Alert" with a set of times, whatever the default should be. Also plug in an "Override" time.

When she wants to wake up at the normal time, set it to "Enabled". When she wants to wake up at the alternate time, set it to "Override". Or, if she just wants to wake up at a different time once, "Override Once.".

Now, even better, you can do this via commands. So for example, if you have an X10 PalmPad, you could make F11-On have the following action, all of this by drop-down.
"Alerts" - "Mornings" (or whatever you named it) - "Switch to Override"
and maybe ring a bell twice to confirm. And F11-Off could be
"Alerts" - "Mornings" (or whatever you named it) - "Switch to Normal"
and maybe ring a bell ONCE to confirm.

That way she wouldn't even have to go to a web server!

There's a lot of power available; that's just the tip.
