    RCS X10 Initializing plugin problems

    Hi Jim:

I have been having problems with the RCS X10 plugin for years. I have tried everything, upgrading HomeSeer, upgrading RCS X10 plugin, noise filters, X10 signal amplifiers. I don't know what else to try. All other X10 devices work fine.

I've used a RCS-TX15b for many years and it runs quite reliably. You'll need to make sure that you have close to zero powerline line noise (mine hovers around 6mV) as powerline noise will kill your reliability.

The TX15b tends to forget some of it's settings during a power loss so I run the following script every time HS detects a 'power restored' to make sure the 'stat is set in the correct modes (I use housecode H for my stat so you'll need to replace the H with the housecode of your stat):
      Code:
' Initialize RCS TX15b 'stat after power cycle
' Force RCS X10 Thermostat to 'Autosend' and 'Echo' modes because the unit usually
' forgets it's settings after a power failure and the plugin does not send these
' unless the user does it manually.
      Sub Main()
       hs.ExecX10 "H4", "Preset Dim", 22, 0, True 'pdim 22 = Echo mode ON
       hs.WaitSecs 5
       hs.ExecX10 "H4", "Preset Dim", 21, 0, True 'pdim 21 = Ack mode OFF
       hs.WaitSecs 5
       hs.ExecX10 "H4", "Preset Dim", 25, 0, True 'pdim 25 = Safe mode OFF
       hs.WaitSecs 5
       hs.ExecX10 "H4", "Preset Dim", 26, 0, True 'pdim 26 = Autosend ON
      End Sub
I would also suggest that you enable the echo and autosend modes in the plugin.
      Best regards,
      -Mark-

I'd try to change the house code as well. I thought I read here somewhere that house code J was problematic. I've got mine set to K and although it's a TXB16, it is 100% reliable on this code - 5 years now. Of couse, nothing else is set to this code either.
