SpeakEasy using appliance modules as a speak switch

I've been looking at a way of creating zoned announcements, but without using any sort of speaer switch.

I've ready the SpeakEasy documentation, and didn't see using appliance modules & powered speakers as an option.

What I'd like to do is: Have 3 sets of powered speakers (mix of wired and wireless) all connected to a single soundcard and split appripriately. Each set of speakers would then be connected to AC via an appliance module. I'd need SpeakEasy to switch the app mods on/off as appropriate based on which zone I desire sound to be played in. So there'd need to be a place to specify the housecode of each zone in the plugin.

Is this, perhaps, an undocumented feature that already exists? If not, is it possible?

      John,

Yes, that's very easily done. In the SpeakEasy config just specify that your speaker switching method is via HS DEVICE. Then you just specify which X10 Housecode corresponds with what location, scene or zone you want to control. SE will then use EXECX10 to control the appliance modules for you.

        Thanks George,

I just re-read the manual, lots of capability there. I look forward to trying it out!
