Which voice are you using with the SIP Connector

It seems there is a problem with the desktop voices Kate & Paul.

Which voice did you succesfully use with the SIP plugin ?

    Thanks,

As I use the NeoSpeech Voices I don't use them....as I am unable to get them to work reliably.

So I use the default MS voice mary....which sounds really really bad.

I think I was using Heather.

I don't have time to mess with the plug-on since I got my HomeTroller so I will give it another shot later.

Who is Heather? Do you remember if it sounded Clear, and where did you find her? Thanks for any info.

            I use Kate 8Khz

If you would like to hear what she sounds like I'll be happy to send you a SIP_URI to call.
Heather is a 22khz voice which is not optimized for the phone.

I believe Kate came as a Homeseer voice direct from them.
I think the voice sounds great. Not as good as Heather, but great none the less.

The call is direct to the HS box so it would not bother me. (Assuming you can call a SIP_URI and not the PSTN line.)

Heather is an expensive standalone voice. The old days you were able to get it if you bought a package from NextUp. But the neweer versions of the voice seem to only work with NextUp and not HS.

Heather also requires a top end soundcard else she soulds like a trashy British tart (TrOjAn, are you reading this?)

I use Kate 8k. The reason for the 8k voice is that a telephone cannot use any additional quality. Fact is the 16k voice will work, but will not sound as good over the phone even though it sounds better live.

OK here is a recording of a call made to the Stipus SIP connector:

                          www.skibumsplace.com/images/skibum/wx.avi

The crackling is a function of the recording and is not present in the original call.
