    Registered Extn

    Is there anyway to check if an extn is registered before dialing it. I use a windows mobile SIP client and it is often goes offline if I stray into a no service zone...so I would like to set a virtual device in HS as to the status of this extn.

    Using asterisk (elastix to be exact)

    I'm not sure.

    Did you configure the Busy Lamp Field feature of the plugin ?

    If so, I would snoop (using wireshark) the SIP dialog between Asterisk and the SIP plugin, to see if a SIP NOTIFY Message is sent when the extension registers/unregisters.

      Yes I looked at that but I didn't understand it....so I stayed clear.
