Yes, it's trying to create buttons - and not able to, so I've been toggling things to see if disconnecting/reconnecting/restarting HS helps. Maybe it's crashing because I'm asking it to disconnect while it's trying to enumerate through the buttons.

Yes that would make sense then, please turn debug mode on, then run create devices, and please post your log, I will also add more error checking next version, so this don't happen

          Tom,
This is the same error I reported back in September http://board.homeseer.com/showthread.php?t=144097

This happened whenever I ran the 'create devices' whilst connected via tcp/ip. The solution for me was to connect via serial port - run the 'create devices' and then connect via tcp/ip.

          Hope this helps

I'm trying to find a pattern, can you tell me a little bit about your homeseer machine specs... mostly what version of windows, 32/64 bit, and then any other information would be great, im starting to think its a windows 7 issue with the winsock library im using for TCP/IP control, Also try unblocking that port you use in your windows firewall, Thanks

that dont matter so much, your homeseer machine is windows xp, so that shoots my theory about windows 7

I have a suggestion. If someone who is having this problem mine sharing the IP address to there receiver.. forward the port from the receiver through your router so i can gain access... i can connect with visual studio and run some debuging to find a fix hopefully, if you dont want to share the information on here please email me through homeseer board.. Also let me know the best time range that i can connect to it to try to debug the issue. Im on USA Central Time.

I want to get the issues resolved for you, but its hard when i have no idea what is causing it..

                Thanks

Tom, I'm having issues with the plugin not detecting when my receiver shuts off. I'm using a TX-SR806 and have events generated based upon power state. Whenever the receiver turns on it 100% of the time updates the status in HS and runs the event. Unfortunately when I shut off the receiver approximately 50% of the time HS is not updated and therefore events don't run.

I can go into the plugin config and choose "poll device" and it will update accordingly.

Any idea what's going on? Also, is there the possibility of adding the ability to poll the device at a timed interval or event based?

                  Cheers!

How are you connecting to the receiver, TCP/IP or serial, some users are having trouble with TCP/IP. How are you shutting the unit off, physical receiver/remote or with the plugin?

As for a temporary work around you could call

                    &hs.Plugin("TWA_ONKYOINTEGRA").PollUnit("0")

That will poll receiver one, just put it in a timed event

This receiver only has rs232 control. When controlling the receiver I'm solely using a remote and HS' purpose is to track the state changes and run events based upon what I do. Input tv = turn on tv via rs232. Input htpc = lower screen and turn on projector. Etc.

It seems track everything properly save power off state. Also, I just remembered that if the receiver is off but HS thinks it's still on, then using the power off button in your plugin does nothing though the debug log shows the command being sent. It will only update power status if i poll the receiver.

For the time being I'll generate an event to poll the receiver but would really like to figure out why this occurs.

                      Thanks for your help!

My new revised plugin is getting closer and closer everyday... once i get it ready for beta testing i would like for you to try it out and see if its sending the off state... I'm thinking it may be your receiver however that is not sending the command... but we will see

                          Spontaneously disconnection with Onkyo

Tom: I have the latest plug in (1.1.1.0) and I am finding that it spontaneously disconnections with my Onkyo receiver. What do I need to do to troubleshoot this issue? Thanks. Elliott
