    HELP. Speakers Turning Off.

    David,

I seem to have run into a little problem. Everytime one of the speakers or all speakers turn on. They immediately turn off. So fast HS doesn't even update to on.

I have not changed my machine in a month and it was working fine. I am running 1.20 I even tried going back to .06 but the same thing keeps happening. I am running HS 1.7.7

The other day I loaded the ADIOcelot plugin. And I think that is when this started.

    Anyone have any idea's

    Thanks
    StevenE

    Hi, Steven.

Gosh, that is bizarre! Have you attempted to control the AB8SS with the HACS configuration program to see if the same thing occurs? It uses very similar methodology to communicate. What happens if you configure the AB8SS to respond to X-10 commands, and then turn on a speaker via X-10? I'm trying to determine if your AB8SS has a hardware issue. I can't think of what else, at this point, that could cause the behavior you've outlined. I'm sorry.

If there's no hardware issue, I'd have to think that HS is sending out the off command. Can you roll back to a previous version of HS?

      David,

I had some time to test and I have confirmed it, the ADIOcelot plugin is causing the problem with the AB8SS Plugin.

I remove ADIOcelot plugin and the AB8SS plugin works fine. I put ADIOcelot back and the AB8SS plugin problem arises again.

      HS 1.7.7
      ADIOcelot Plugin 1.70
      AB8SS Plugin 1.20

The HACS app controls the AB8SS fine.

      Ocelot is com 7
      AB8SS is com 4

What house code is each of the plugins using. The ADIOcelot uses 2 for variables and 1 each for SECU type units. The ADIOcelot knows which house code to use based upon looking at the homeseer devices with the Applied Digital Ocelot interface property.

          Michael,

I wish it was that easy.

^ _ is the ocelot variables.
( all the _ variables are disabled. )

          and the 3 modules are [ ] \

          The AB8SS is #

I had the same thought as Michael on the matter. Are there prior versions of the Ocelot plug-in available that you can try? I use the HomeVision as my interface and am not encountering difficulties. Are any of the other AB8SS users also Ocelot users?

The AB8SS plug-in doesn't pay attention to anything outside of itself. Something appears to be commanding it to change state.

              David, Michael,

The HS Ocelot Plugin 1.0.0.30 had been running before that with no problems. ( at least no problems regarding the AB8SS ).

I upgraded to the ADIOcelot plugin for 2 reasons. response from my ocelot was delayed by about 4 seconds with the HS plugin. And i wanted to invert the inputs for HS only on only 1 of my modules on the ADI Bus.

The ADIOcelot plugin corrected the delay and allowed me to invert only 1 module. ( thanks again michael. )

I have not reverted back to the HS plugin to test, I am unsure what will happen after running the ADIOcelot plugin.

Anything else to try/look for ?

                Steven,

I'm sorry, but I'm out of ideas for the time being. Have you contacted the ADI folks?

See if the attached ADIOcelot makes any difference.

                    Michael,

That appears to have fixed it. The speakers turn on and off as they should during my little test.
Would you care to share the details ?
                    I am always curious.

Thanks again for the quick response.

Homeseer provides a SETIO function through which it commands plugins to change the outputs. It has provisions to pass the homeseer device class object to the function. My experience had been that the only time that this object was not Nothing was when the ocelot was being addressed. I just assumed it was a carryover from the early days when the ocelot was one of the few interfaces. I added a check in the ADIOcelot to confirm that if the object is in reality a device, that the interface property had to be set to Applied Digital Ocelot. I suspect that any plugin that has an two-state output will receive a valid device object.

                        Okay,

maybe I shouldn't have asked. I almost got that.

                          Michael,
Is the new version of ADIOcelot in updater? I just ordered the AB8SS and I'm running your plugin as well (and love it), so I do not want to run to the same problem.

                          Thanks

I installed the ADIOcelot plugin and have the same conflict with the speakers turning off. Returned to the HS version for the time being and the speakers work. Is there an update of the plugin that AB8SS users can use?

The "bug" is actually in the ADIOcelot plugin. So you might want to post the same question in that forum.
