There's a button on the NetCallerID box that will dial the number displayed. Does anyone know if this can be done by the computer (through the serial port)?
I have not checked the cable to see if there's even a connection to the computer serial port transmit pin.
I also haven't installed the software that came with the box. If anyone has done this, does it have a button to dial the phone?
My plan is to use a split serial cable to connect to both the NetCallerID and a modem (receive connected to NetCallerID, transmit to the modem) in order to dial return calls from a button on an asp page I use to view a call log file. If I can dial from the NetCallerID directly, this saves me from adding another device (and another wall-wart) to my setup. I won't be using the modem for anything else.
